Hi, I’m Katie Bruzzone—also known as Sister Mary Kathryn Keep Your Hands Off My Girl Bruzzone (thanks, Dad!) or “Lil’ Rat” if you’re speaking to my inner child. I'm a kid at heart, a student of life, and I'm always making art. I've spent my life tending to the sacred seeds planted in the soil of my soul with my animal friends by my side... exploring the intersection of art, science, nature, and personal mastery through creative expression. Knowing myself deeply and discovering the service in my suffering gifted me the great honor of leading others through that same process. I offer the world this gift through mastery coaching, innovation consulting, and creative strategy... and my art, of course!

FROM THE BAY AREA TO THE BIG APPLE

Born and raised in the golden hills of the Bay Area, I grew up barefoot, grounded in the tidepools of Carmel-by-the-Sea and dreaming with the pines of Lake Tahoe. I’ve always been a night owl, drawn to the mystery of darkness—and not just the kind that comes after sunset. Like many, I met the shadow side of life very early, and it sparked a lifelong curiosity: What is the dark?  What is evil? What is the soul? What’s inside us, and how can we work with it instead of against it?

That curiosity led me down a rabbit hole—one I’m still exploring. At 13, I began studying neuroscience to understand addiction and the brain. Then came psychology, consciousness, mythology, shamanism, metaphysics, and quantum social science. The more I learned, the deeper I went.

A PATH OF PLAY, PURPOSE and PERSONAL GROWTH

After graduating from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, I entered the world of PR and brand storytelling, working with brands like LEGO and Roku. I eventually shifted gears into private equity innovation at Alpine Investors, and then made my way to New York, where I earned a Master of Science in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons School of Design.

It was at Parsons that School of Self was born—a thesis project turned passion project turned professional path. Through my work, I support people in reconnecting, refining, and repeating what is needed for mastery.

These days, I live back in California, where I work as a:

• Mastery Coach focused on inner child healing, emotional intelligence, and shadow integration

• Innovation Consultant helping leaders and organizations spark creative solutions and design meaningful change

• Creative Strategist & Facilitator who brings people into deeper relationship with themselves and their work
